When we moved far away from our family last year, I knew we would miss our family. I felt sad to know that my kids would grow up away from the frequent interactions with grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Having J's family come fairly often to visit has softened this blow somewhat. It still hasn't taken away the longing I feel for my family though. I went from talking to my Mom every day on the phone and seeing her at least 2 times a week, to going weeks without phone calls and not seeing her for almost an entire year. Unfortunately/fortunately she was able to find a job in Austin, Texas near my Dad this year. I was happy for them to be reuinted and for her to continue to ease back into her career. Unfortunately because of this, it has made it impossible for my parents to come visit us. My Mom constantly worries that my children will forget her because so much time has gone by. One of the ways she tries to stay in contact with them/us is her famous care packages. My kids have gotten so used to seeing them, that when a Holiday is near they start asking when Grandma's package will come. Her Christmas package did not disappoint {never does}. Grandma always puts so much thought into the crafts, toys and candy that she sends. I think that her most recent one may be their all time favorite. My Mom went all out. They had fun melting bead crafts, sticker Santa sets, fuzzy magnets, and of course candy. Thanks Mom for taking your time {and money} to pick out fun things for my kids.....they sure appreciate it {and I do too}. We are already counting the months until we will see you in June for graduation---less than six months!
